Passed peacefully at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia on Sunday September 10, 2023 in his 75th year.  Paul, loving husband of Mary (Nee: McArthur).  Brother of Kirk (predeceased) Beryl. Son of the late Keith and Clara (Nee: Warren) Wilson, he was born at Soldiers Memorial Hospital on September 17, 1948.  Brother in law to Gordon and Muriel McArthur, nephew Steven (predeceased), and Andrew, John McArthur (Predeceased) Sharon niece Amy. Cousin Murray Graham (Shirley).  Son in law of the late Leonard and Verna McArthur.  He always had a smile and a friendly hello.  He was a “Humble Man”.  Paul grew up in Oshawa and was a Tool and Die Maker at General Motors.  He spent a lot of time at the Warren farm in Udney and came back to the Orillia area after getting into carpentry.  Paul built his and Mary’s home in 1988 with the help of a motley crew!  If a job was worth doing it was worth doing perfectly.  He played hockey, baseball, golf, and curling, and had a love of gardening, especially his roses.  He made a perfect yard.  He loved the outdoors with fishing and moose hunting.  Paul got to travel a lot working in the arena business where he did boarding systems in Mile One Stadium in St. John’s Newfoundland, Anchorage Alaska, Pheonix Arizona, and many others int eh USA. He will be missed by friends Carl, Real, Dustin (The Trailer Builders) Clive & Chuck and their families, and also by his cat Zorro! Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at OSMH for their care and kindness as well as Bayshore nurses and caregivers.  Police officers who escorted Mary to the hospital when her telephone was out of order and also checking on her a few days later.  A Celebration of Life will take place at the Army, Navy, Airforce Club (54 Victoria St. Orillia) on Sunday September 24, 2023 from 2 – 4 p.m..  Donations may be made to Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the charity of your choice and will be received by the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Home 54 Coldwater Street E., Orillia, Ontario 705-326-3595.
