John Crawford: Mayor of Oro-Medonte

I’m John Crawford, and I am running for Mayor of Oro-Medonte. I have been a dedicated, lifelong volunteer within Oro-Medonte and the surrounding region. I firmly believe in giving back to the community, demonstrating social responsibility, and making a meaningful impact within the community through volunteer work and community engagement.

My core values as a candidate for Mayor of Oro-Medonte focus on creating better access to resources, and timely results for development, as well as enhancing recreational opportunities to promote living a healthy lifestyle, boosting tourism and community engagement. As Mayor of Oro-Medonte, I will maintain a safe and reliable road system for all residents and work with community volunteer groups to support/maintain the community halls.

I have served four terms, 15 years, as the Ward 4 Councillor and would like to move forward in taking a leadership role on council. I have extensive knowledge and understanding of how the council operates, and I will use this knowledge base to establish goals, develop objectives, and initiate performance measures to ensure effective and efficient decision-making processes.

As Mayor, I will work on policy development to address resident concerns, ensuring they are being heard, validated, and taken care of. I pride myself on being honest, friendly, and approachable. My ‘team approach’ to leadership ensures that all perspectives and opinions will be included in each decision-making process.
