Alberta man charged with impaired after Oro-Medonte crash

ORO-MEDONTE – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a vehicle driver after a motor vehicle collision.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Jan. 30, 2021, police were notified of a motor vehicle that had hit a tree at Line 7 and Ridge Road in the Township of Oro-Medonte. While at the scene, officers began an impaired driving investigation and, subsequently, arrested the driver of the motor vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, John McConnell, age 44, of Alberta has been charged with:          

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol          
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on March 2, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
