An 82-year-old Barrie resident was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 near North Bay, according to provincial police.
North Bay OPP say the collision, which happened north of the city, involved a passenger vehicle and a transport truck.
Police say the Barrie resident was a passenger in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the victim's name.
Greg Saunders, North Bay's deputy fire chief, said emergency crews helped extricate three people from the car.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries along with the second passenger who suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the transport truck was not injured.
Highway 11 North was closed for approximately three hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
