Barrie resident gets early wake-up call after a car crashes into house

A silver Mazda sedan drove off the road, through a wrought-iron fence and crashed into a home, police say

Southwest Barrie residents had a loud wakeup call Friday morning.

At about 8 a.m., a silver Mazda sedan drove off the road, through a wrought-iron fence and crashed into a Farmstead Crescent house.

The car ended up in the home’s front foyer.

City police said no one was injured in the crash.

No charges have been laid, to this point, as the driver could have had a medical problem, police said.

Barrie firefighters were also called to the scene, which is just off Marsellus Drive.
