Body of 30-year-old Orillia man discovered in Severn River: OPP

The body of a 30-year-old male from Orillia was discovered in a Ramara Township river Saturday afternoon.

The body was located by a local resident in the Severn River near a home on Rama Road, says a media release from the Orillia OPP.

A post-mortem has been scheduled at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto.

"Investigators believe this is a non-suspicious death and there is no threat to public safety," notes the media release.

The investigation is continuing with assistance from the OPP's forensic identification services (FIS) and in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
