A body was discovered near the shore of Lake Simcoe this morning, Orillia OPP have confirmed.
While there are not many details being released, Orillia OPP Const. Ted Dongelmans said various police units are on the scene investigating.
The body was discovered near the lake's shore at the foot of West Street near Kitchener Park.
"The Orillia Crime Unit is investigating and forensic identification services are also on the scene," said Dongelmans, who could not provide details about how the body was discovered.
"Obviously, it's very early in the investigation and there are very few details available," said Donglemans, adding the identity and gender of the person was not yet known.
