Police arrested and charged the same Collingwood woman twice in one day.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that on Nov. 1, 2022 at 4:06 p.m. the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a traffic complaint for a driver that was possibly impaired and driving on Sykes Street North in Meaford.

Police arrested the driver, a 25-year-old female from Collingwood, and charged her with failure/refusal to comply with a demand. The driver was released on the scene and a court date was scheduled in Owen Sound at the Ontario Court of Justice.

Later the same day, at 10 p.m., Grey Bruce OPP were called for a disturbance on Sykes Street North. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the same woman who was facing charges from the earlier traffic stop. Police arrested the woman again and charged her with assault and mischief under $5,000.

This time, she was taken to the police station.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
