The driver of a tractor trailer lost control and broke through the centre guide rail, landing in southbound ditch earlier this morning. The highway is expected to be closed for most of the day for repairs.

UPDATE:
Both sides of Highway 11, in the area of Line 11, are expected to be closed for much of the day today.

Earlier this morning, the driver of a transport truck lost control of the vehicle and broke through the centre guide rail, say OPP.

The truck landed in the southbound ditch. The driver sustained only minor injuries.

There was major damage, however, to the highway. The OPP is saying the highway is expected to be closed "all day" due to guide rail replacement efforts.

They suggest you find alternative routes.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Early-morning commuters should expect to encounter heavy delays if they're using Highway 11.

The OPP say Highway 11 north bound is closed at Line 12 due to a collision. Traffic is being diverted at Line 12, police say.

There has also been a collision on Highway 11 southbound at Line 12/Rugby Road according to Ontario 513.

Police urge motorists to find alternate routes.

It's not clear how long the highway will be closed.
