Coroner's inquest slated for superjail inmate who died in hospital

A coroner’s inquest will be held into the death of a former Penetanguishene superjail inmate.

Central Region (Toronto East office) supervising coroner Dr. Jennifer M. Dmetrichuk has announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Dustin Clee.

According to a Ministry of the Solicitor General release, Clee, 28, died at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto on August 20, 2017, after being transferred from the Central North Correctional Centre. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Clee’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
