Dog dies, pedestrian sent to hospital after Barrie crash

A man was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital with serious injuries

City police are investigating a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a dog on Dunlop Street West Friday night.

Officers could be seen taking measurements of the scene and the vehicle involved, a white Jeep SUV.

The incident happened on Dunlop Street West, just east of Anne Street, with police getting the call at 9:10 p.m. on Dec 23. 

“A pedestrian was struck and his dog has passed away. He has been transported to Sunnybrook Hospital,” an officer at the scene told BarrieToday.

A section of Dunlop Street West between Anne Street and Boys Street remained closed well after midnight, as police continued their investigation.
