Duo charged after weapons, drugs seized in Orillia

Cocaine, brass knuckles found during investigation, police say; Severn, Ramara residents charged

Two people are facing numerous weapon and drug charges after police stopped a vehicle Wednesday in Orillia.

During the investigation, Orillia OPP officers seized cocaine, psilocybin, brass knuckles, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency.

Barry Joseph Boismier-Stiles, 39, from Severn Township, has been charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to comply with a release order, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking.

Boismier-Stiles was held for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia in April.

Police also charged Candace Bissonette, 48, from Ramara Township, with unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking.

Bissonette was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on April 19.
