Police have determined the cause of a fire that killed a woman in Gravenhurst last year.
Emergency crews responded to a fire at a multi-unit complex on First Street South in Gravenhurst just after 2:30 a.m. Aug. 31, 2021. At the time, Bracebridge OPP reported “suspected human remains” were found inside.
It was determined a 50-year-old woman had died.
In a news release issued Thursday, police said the fire originated in the area of the front porch and it was accidental.
