Local man clocked at 160 km/h, charged with stunt driving on Hwy. 400

OPP say vehicle was pulled over south of Barrie; driver also blew in the 'warn' range on an alcohol-screening device

A man was caught by Aurora OPP allegedly driving 160 kilometres per hour on Highway 400 in King City.

A 23-year-old Barrie man has lost his driver's licence for a month after being charged with stunt driving, Tuesday night.

Aurora OPP stopped the man after witnessing him driving 160 kilometres per hour on Highway 400 near King Road on Feb. 27.

After being pulled over, police say the driver also blew a "warn" on an alcohol-screening device.

He has been charged with stunt driving and received a 30-day licence suspension.

The man's vehicle was also impounded for 14 days.

He is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
