Local woman charged with impaired after Orillia traffic stop

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a Ramara woman with impaired driving following a traffic stop in the City of Orillia.

On April 7, shortly after 12 a.m., officers on patrol stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

Upon speaking with the female driver, an impaired driving investigation was initiated. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further investigation.

 As a result, Lakisha Sharpe, 26, has been charged with operation while impaired (blood alcohol concentration 80-plus). 

The accused was released on a Form 10 undertaking and is set to appear on April 26 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia.
