A male has been arrested following a brazen downtown robbery Monday.
Orillia OPP officers responded to the report of a robbery at a downtown business at 10 a.m. Monday morning.
Police say an unknown male entered the business and demanded cash, while assaulting the employee.
"Police immediately attended and canvassed the area," noted a media release.
With the assistance of people from downtown businesses and other community partners, police were able to identify the male and, just after 11 a.m., arrested him.
Patrick Beighton, 50, of Peterborough, was charged with robbery with violence and was held in custody for a bail hearing.
