Man charged following numerous thefts in Gravenhurst area

A man has been charged with numerous counts of theft following incidents in the Gravenhurst area.

Bracebridge OPP has responded to 99 reports of theft since June, according to a news release.

“Many of those victims were frustrated store and business owners who face increasing vulnerability in these situations,” police said.

On Tuesday, police arrested Raymond Shaw, 44, of Gravenhurst, and charged him with nine counts of theft under $5,000, five counts of failure to comply with probation, and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime and failure to comply with an undertaking.

The accused has a bail hearing scheduled for Friday in Bracebridge.
