Update: Barrie police announced shortly after 1:30 p.m., Friday, that the man has been positively identified. No other new information was released.

Barrie police are trying to identify a man whose body was found in Kempenfelt Bay this morning.
Police say the body was recovered from the waters of Kempenfelt Bay after he was discovered by fishermen near the Tiffin Street Boat Launch on Friday, Oct. 28.
The discovery was made between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
"At this time, it is unknown how long that he may have been in the water," police said in a news release.
The man is described as possibly being Indigenous, between 65 and 70 years old, wearing dark-coloured shorts and a T-shirt, with a rosary and a ring on his right ring finger.
"We are contacting close-by retirement homes and checking missing persons reports, but at this time we don't have anyone filed as missing," Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said.
