Police are investigating a stabbing in Orillia that left one person with serious injuries early Friday morning.
At about 3:30 a.m., emergency crews were called to a residence on Barrie Road, where police say a person was assaulted outside of the home. The assault then continued inside. The victim was taken to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
In a news release, police said the investigation is ongoing “and further information will be made available as the investigation continues.”
There was no mention of a suspect, or suspects, or any arrests.
Police called it an isolated incident and said there is no threat to public safety.
