OPP discover cocaine in Maxwell House coffee jar

Police say they pulled over a vehicle and found the drugs during a search; two people are now facing charges, say police

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP reported finding this coffee jar containing cocaine during a search of a vehicle.

During a traffic stop on Saturday, local police say they discovered 51.7 grams of cocaine tucked inside a coffee jar. 

According to a news release from The Blue Mountains and Collingwood Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), police stopped a vehicle on Nov. 25 in Collingwood and discovered both the people inside had cannabis "ready available."

" As a result a search was conducted under the authority of the Cannabis Control Act. During which point a Maxwell House coffee jar was located and found to contain 51.7 grams of cocaine," states the release  

A 64-year-old male and 43-year-old female, both from Collingwood, were each charged with possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine under the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act.
