Police are investigating a suspicious death in Midland.

On April 20 at about 7:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report of an injured person on Borsa Lane, near a public walkway from King Street to a parking lot. The individual was taken to a local hospital before being transported to a Toronto-area hospital.

The person has since died of the injuries sustained, Southern Georgian Bay OPP said in a news release issued Tuesday.

Police have deemed the death to be suspicious, but they believe it was an isolated incident and said there is no threat to public safety.

The identity of the victim and the cause of death are not being released at this time.
