Provincial police are looking for witnesses to a three-vehicle collision that killed one person early this morning in Toronto.

Emergency crews responded at 5:12 a.m. on March 14 to a crash on Highway 400 South at Highway 401.

Police say a black vehicle, which was travelling southbound, was seen being driven at a high rate of speed. It then collided with the back of a commercial vehicle. A southbound grey vehicle sustained minor damage, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

A male occupant of the black vehicle, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other occupants of that vehicle fled the scene on foot.

The drivers of the commercial vehicle and the grey vehicle were not injured.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to call OPP at 416-235-4981.
