Police are investigating an incident that took place on Thursday at about 4 p.m. behind the Village Square Mall in Penetanguishene.
"Southern Georgian Bay OPP is currently conducting an investigation. At this time we are asking the public to stay clear of this area," said Southern Georgian Bay OPP Const. Dave Hobson.
"There is no threat to public safety," said Hobson.
According to a report from CTV, one person was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
On social media, people reported hearing gun shots and some said a Ford F150 was seen fleeing the scene.
Police aren't releasing any details but Hobson said an update is expected later today.
