OPP nab two impaired drivers within an hour

On Feb. 18, 2021 at 7:15 p.m. Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a concern from a member of the public about a suspected impaired driver on Muskoka Beach Road in Gravenhurst.

Officers located the vehicle in the ditch and as a result arrested and charged 23-year-old Anthony Harbridge of Bracebridge with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 6, 2021 to answer to his charges.

Roughly one hour later at 8:17 p.m. police received information of a vehicle in the ditch on Muskoka Road 118 West in Muskoka Lakes Township.

Officers approached the male and determined that alcohol was a factor in the collision. As a result 59-year-old Anthony Taus of Uxbridge Township was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 20, 2021 to answer to his charges.

Officers will continue to patrol our roadways and trails and those drivers found impaired by alcohol or drugs will have a date in criminal court, have their driver's license suspended immediately for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days. Be responsible and make good decisions, and help others make good decisions too.
