Orillia driver charged with impaired after Boxing Day crash

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged an impaired driver after a single motor vehicle collision on Boxing Day. 

On Dec. 26, 2020, just before 1 a.m., officers received a call for a single motor vehicle collision on Atherley Road in the City of Orillia. An investigation ensued and the driver was identified and subsequently charged.

Darcy Labelle, age 59, of Orillia has been charged with:  

  • Operation while impaired - Alcohol and Drugs  
  • Operation while impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)    

The accused was released on a Form 9 Appearance Notice and is set to appear on Jan. 19, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
