Orillia duo face multiple charges after meth, imitation firearms seized

Officers with the OPP seized a quantity of methamphetamine and two imitation firearms as part of an ongoing investigation.

Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals with numerous offences, following the execution of a search warrant in the City of Orillia, as part of an ongoing investigation.

On Feb. 17, 2022, members of the Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) from Orillia and Southern Georgian Bay, conducted a traffic stop and executed a search warrant on a residence in the City in Orillia, with the assistance of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT).

Officers seized a quantity of methamphetamine and two imitation firearms.

As a result of the investigation, Dylan Cuppage, age 32 of Orillia, has been charged with:

  • Failure to comply with undertaking, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC) 145 (4)(a)
  • Failure to comply with probation Order, CC 733.1(1)
  • Failure to comply with undertaking, CC 145 (4)(a)
  • Failure to comply with probation order, CC 733.1(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - methamphetamine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) 4(1)

The accused has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing scheduled on Feb. 28, 2022.

In addition, Renee Weaver, age 46 of Orillia, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance Methamphetamine, CDSA 4(1)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, on March 15, 2022.
