Orillia man arrested for allegedly selling crack cocaine

An Orillia man was arrested at a Barrie hotel by Ontario Provincial Police on Wednesday for allegedly selling crack cocaine.

Officers with the Orillia OPP community street crime unit (CSCU) have laid multiple drug-related charges following an investigation in Orillia.

On Aug. 23, CSCU officers, with assistance from the Offender Management and Apprehension Program, arrested a suspect in Barrie.

Suspected crack cocaine and a cellular device were seized as part of the investigation.

Jimi Carrine, 44, of Orillia, has been charged with prohibited driving, possession of Schedule 1 substance (crack cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with a release order (two counts), and failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia on Aug. 31.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.
