Orillia OPP charge two with impaired driving

Both drivers have court dates next month

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have arrested two impaired drivers in two nights in Ramara Township and the City of Orillia.

On June 20, 2021, shortly after 3 a.m., officers received information that an intoxicated female was driving a vehicle near downtown Orillia. Officers patrolled the area extensively and were able to locate the vehicle about an hour later at a property in Ramara Township. Following an impaired driving investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing. 

As a result, Sheila Bickell, age 48, of Orillia, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on a Form 9 Appearance Notice and is set to appear on July 6, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.

On June 21, 2021, shortly after 1 a.m., officers were conducting R.I.D.E. on Atherley Road, Orillia, when they observed a vehicle turn into a parking lot and proceed over an embankment. The officers approached and were given cause to enter into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further investigation.

As a result, Lesli McNabb, age 45, of Apsley, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released on a Form 9 Appearance Notice and is set to appear on July 06, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
