Orillia OPP charges two people with impaired driving

Orillia OPP has charged two people with impaired operation in the past two days.

At about 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to reports of a driver who had left a home in Oro-Medonte while impaired. Officers located the driver with his vehicle at a business in Barrie and arrested him.

Shannon Blackmore, 51, of Oro-Medonte, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol) and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).

On Thursday at about 3 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Colborne Street in Orillia and determined the driver was impaired.

Joseph Cain, 28, of Orillia, has been charged with operation while impaired (alcohol) and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).

Both drivers have January court dates in Orillia, and both had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
