The Orillia OPP are seeking help to identify this suspect who was caught on surveillance footage attempting to break into a cash register at Orillia's Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen is a popular spot in the summer. But, for thieves looking for some cold cash, they turned to the local ice cream franchise in the midst of a January cold snap.

On Jan. 12, just after 4 a.m., there was a break-in at Orillia's Dairy Queen on Memorial Avenue.

"The culprits gained entry by breaking a glass door, caused damage to a till and took off with approximately $1,500," said Orillia OPP Const. Shelby Russell.

Today, the local police detachment released surveillance footage of one of the culprits breaking into a cash register.

Anyone with information about this theft or the suspects is asked to contact the OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
