Orillia OPP seize loaded handguns, cocaine in Wyandotte Street bust (3 photos)

Three people are facing an array of charges after OPP, while on routine patrol at 1 a.m., stopped a vehicle

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested four suspects and seized two loaded handguns and a quantity of cocaine in the City of Orillia.

On June 2, 2021 just after 1 a.m., officers were on patrol on Wyandotte Street, Orillia when they began an investigation as a result of a Highway Traffic Act violation.

Subsequently, four suspects were arrested and searched and two loaded handguns were located. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of a quantity of crack cocaine, illicit cannabis and a large quantity of Canadian currency.

As a result, Deshawn Cauta, age 28 of North York, has been charged with:
    •    Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
    •    Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
    •    Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
    •    Carrying concealed weapon
    •    Carry concealed prohibited device or ammunition
    •    Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
    •    Carry firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
    •    Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
    •    Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
    •    Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine
    •    Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
    •    Two counts of fail to comply with probation order
    •    Failure to comply with undertaking
    •    Distribute illicit cannabis
    •    Possession for the purpose of distributing

Dawson Tulloch, age 19 of Oshawa, has also been charged with:
    •    Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
    •    Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
    •    Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
    •    Carrying concealed weapon
    •    Carry concealed prohibited device or ammunition
    •    Carry firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
    •    Two counts of possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
    •    Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine
    •    Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
    •    Distribute illicit cannabis
    •    Possession for the purpose of distributing

In addition, Malachi Bainbridge, age 19 of Toronto, has been charged with:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine
    •    Distribute illicit cannabis
    •    Possession for the purpose of distributing
    •    Obstruct peace officer
    •    Three counts of failure to comply with release order

All three accused parties were held in custody for bail hearings on June 02, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.

The fourth suspect was released unconditionally without criminal charges.
