Oro-Medonte man among several nabbed for impaired driving

Police charged five others in the region with impaired driving over the weekend

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were kept busy over the weekend responding to calls for service and impaired drivers on the roadways as follows:

At 8:53 a.m. on June 7, 2021 officers respond to reports of a possible impaired driver on Highway 400 in Georgian Bay Township and located the suspect vehicle on Highway 12 in Tay Township stopping it at William and Newton Street in Victoria Harbour. The lone male occupant Donovan Robillard 24 years of Penetanguishene was arrested and charged with the following offences after an impaired driving investigation:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and further with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released on an recognizance to appear before the  Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 24, 2021 and is subject to a 90 day licence suspension and vehicle tow/impound under the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

At 3:09 a.m. on June 6, 2021 officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver passed out at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Assiniboia Street in Port McNicol. Lone occupant Owen Cadeau-Hennigar of London was arrested and has been charged with the following offences after a impaired driving investigation:

  •  Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and further
  • Class G1 licence holder - drive at unlawful hour
  • Class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver
  • Young driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • Novice driver -B.A.C. above zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was released on an recognizance to appear before the  Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 17, 2021 and is subject to a 90 day licence suspension and vehicle tow/impound under the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

At 1:01 a.m. on June 6, 2021 officers responded to a report of an possible impaired driver and located the suspect vehicle with the lone driver passed out at a Quarry Road retail business. Wyatt Alfred King 39 years of the Archipelago Township was arrested and after an impaired driving investigation and has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused was released on an recognizance to appear before the  Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 24, 2021 and is subject to a 90 day licence suspension and vehicle tow/impound under the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

At 8:56 p.m. on June 5, 2021 officers responded to a single vehicle crash at Highway 400 and Highway 12 Tay Township. Officers arrested the driver Dustin Latondress 24 years of Penetanguishene and after an impaired driving investigation the driver was charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an recognizance to appear before the  Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 24, 2021 and is subject to a 90 day licence suspension and vehicle tow/impound under the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

At 8:27 p.m. on June 5, 2027 officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Hatton Drive in Penetanguishene. Officers located the suspect vehicle and arrested the driver and after an impaired driving investigation charged Emilia Izabela Dardzinska 42 years of Mississauga with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation, Failure or refusal to comply with demand contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an recognizance to appear before the  Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 17, 2021 and is subject to a 90 day licence suspension and vehicle tow/impound under the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

At 7:57 p.m. on June 5, 2021 officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash with a vehicle on its roof at the intersection of Gervais Road and Vasey Road Tay Township. The driver, Maximillian Jeffrey Stewart, 23 years of Oro-Medonte Township, was arrested and after an impaired driving investigation was charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 17, 2021 and is subject to a 90 day licence suspension and vehicle tow/impound under the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
