A crash in a parking lot ended with impaired driving charges for an area woman.

On Wednesday afternoon, a citizen informed the police about a crash in a parking lot near the Gravenhurst Wharf.

Bracebridge OPP officers investigated and determined a vehicle collided with two parked vehicles in the lot, causing minor damage. Officers met with the driver and subsequently arrested her.

Police say Suzanne Mossman, of Gravenhurst, was charged with operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus) and operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs).

The 58-year-old will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 22, 2024 to answer to her charges.

"Information from concerned and attentive members of the public is key in efforts to take impaired drivers off the road and create safer driving conditions for everyone," notes a media release from the OPP.

The consequences for impaired driving in the province of Ontario, beyond the criminal charge, includes a 90-day driver's licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.
