Pedestrian killed in crash just north of Barrie

Emergency service workers at the scene of a fatal collision Saturday night, north of Barrie.

A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a vehicle Saturday night out front of the Husky Gas Station on Bayfield Street, just north of Barrie.

Police said it happened at 11:15 p.m.

Huronia West OPP media relations, community safety officer Const. Lindsay Griffin said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, OPP said.

No charges have been laid in the incident.

Police are not identifying the victim, Griffin said.

The OPP collision reconstruction unit is investigating.

Police are requesting assistance from any potential witnesses, or those with video surveillance or dash camera footage.
