Highway expected to be closed between Line 2 and Line 3 for 'significant part of the day,' police say

A man suffered serious injuries early Saturday morning after he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 11 in Oro-Medonte.

Emergency crews were called to Highway 11 South between Line 2 and Line 3 at about 5 a.m. The man was taken to a Toronto-area hospital.

Police are investigating the incident and crews are working to repair damage to the highway’s infrastructure.

All lanes in both directions in the area have been affected, and the highway is expected to be closed for a “significant part of the day,” according to an Orillia OPP news release.
