Pedestrian struck and injured in Barrie: police

One person was struck and suffered non-life-threatening injuries

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening at the intersection of Mapleview and Barrie View drives in Barrie.

The incident occurred at 6:20 p.m. on Jan. 31.

"One person was struck and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon said.

Due to partial lane closures on Mapleview Drive, traffic was backed up in the vicinity of the crash, which affected access to nearby plazas.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and they will be releasing details on the crash tomorrow.
