Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched at 1:10 p.m. today, July 2, to attend a possible drowning in Arnolds Bay near Moon Basin Marina after members of the public saw a man having difficulty near a dock and slip under water.

Efforts were made to locate him while awaiting assistance. Officers, along with Muskoka EMS, Moose Deer Point Fire Department, the OPP Marine Unit and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) attended and began their search of the water.

At 4:25 p.m. the USRU recovered the body of 61-year-old Errol Knight of Caledon and unfortunately life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
