Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl in Huntsville.

According to Huntsville OPP, the girl was on her way to school at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday when she was approached by a man in the area of Earls Road and Muskoka Road 3 North. The man tried to force the girl into his vehicle, but she managed to get away. She was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as white, about 30 years old, with an average height, thin build, brown hair, and a closely shaved dark brown beard. He was wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black four-door car.

Police are also looking to identify a female jogger who was in the area between 8 and 9 a.m. and might have witnessed the incident.

Residents in the area of Earls Road and Muskoka Road 3 North who have surveillance or dash cam footage from between 8 and 9 a.m. are urged to contact police immediately.
