KAWARTHA LAKES — The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is releasing a video in the hope of resolving a 2020 murder that occurred in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Alex Tobin was just 18 years old when he was shot and killed two years ago today at an apartment on King Street East in the Town of Omemee. Witnesses have described two suspects that were seen fleeing the building on foot and then departing the area in a motor vehicle on Highway 7.

A video appeal for information that includes members of Alex's family is being linked today through the OPP's social media platforms - Facebook Central Region; Twitter @OPP_CRYouTube (EnglishFrench) and Instagram -- for members of the public to share with their respective audiences.

Led by a Major Case Manager, the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has a team of investigators that is committed to locate Alex's killers, bring them to justice and provide resolution to Alex's family and community. The OPP strongly urges anyone who may have information to assist with the ongoing Alex Tobin homicide investigation to call the dedicated tip line at 1-844-677-5020.
