Police seize $25K in drugs from Orillia residence

Two people facing charges after search warrant executed Friday morning

Two people have been charged and $25,000 worth of drugs was seized Friday morning in Orillia.

Shortly after 5 a.m., OPP officers from Orillia, Muskoka and Nottawasaga executed a search warrant at a residence. They seized methamphetamine (crystal MDMA), suspected psilocybin (magic mushrooms), cocaine packaging, a digital scale, a vacuum sealer, cash, and numerous cellphones.

Daniel Aylwin, 31, and Brittany Schroeder, 30, both of Orillia, have been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Aylwin has also been charged with trafficking in a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine).

The accused have a July 11 court date in Orillia.
