Police seize cocaine, Canadian currency during Gravenhurst drug bust

GRAVENHURST – Members of the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people as a result of a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Gravenhurst.

On July 13, 2021, at approximately 3:50 p.m., with the assistance of the Bracebridge OPP, an arrest was made of two persons in the downtown area of Gravenhurst. A search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of controlled substances, including 88.6 grams of cocaine, as well as $2,059 in Canadian Currency.

As a result of the investigation, the two people have been charged.

William Buker, 35 years of age, of Gravenhurst, has been charged with: 

  • Trafficking a Schedule I Substance 
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, scheduled on July 14, 2021. '

Karolina Janiec, 30 years of age, of Gravenhurst, has been charged with: 

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking 
  • Obstruct police 
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on Aug. 24, 2021.
