Police seize more than $25,000 worth of cocaine during Bala bust

BRACEBRIDGE - On Aug. 27, 2018 at approximately 10 p.m., the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Muskoka Road 169 in Bala resulting in a substantial drug seizure and two arrests.

As a result of the investigation, the CSCU seized over $25,000 in cocaine, over $11,000 in currency and a motor vehicle.

The following two parties have been charged with the following offences:

Iver Patrick Hansen Jr. (45) of the Township of Muskoka Lakes, District of Muskoka, Ont.:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine - for the purpose of Trafficking - S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
    •    Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance - S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - S. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Genna Leigh Kramer (22) of the Township of Muskoka Lakes, District of Muskoka, Ont.:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine - for the purpose of Trafficking - S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
    •    Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance - S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 - S. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The two accused were released from custody and are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 2, 2018.
