Ramara resident faces impaired charges

Police say they received a call that the 64-year-old was intoxicated and planning to drive

Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a male for impaired driving in Ramara Township.  

On June 11, 2021, approximately 9 p.m., officers received information that an intoxicated male was about to drive from a residence in Brechin. Officers arrived, located the vehicle and spoke to the driver. They immediately had cause to begin an impaired driving investigation and, as a result, the suspect was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further investigation.   

Subsequently, Stephen Neal, age 64, of Ramara, has been charged with:   

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol 
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (over 80)  

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on July 06, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
