'Serious collision' shuts down Hwy. 88 (update: road reopened)

A serious collision occurred on Highway 88 Tuesday evening. Police say the highway, between Highway 400 and 10 Sideroad is likely to be closed for several hours.

UPDATE:

Highway 88 was reopened at around 9 p.m., according to South Simcoe Police, who closed the road at around 6:30 p.m. after a motorcycle crash.

A "serious collision" has shut down a local highway.

South Simcoe Police are investigating what appears to be a motorcycle crash on Highway 88. The crash happened at about 6:30 p.m.

Highway 88 is closed between Highway 400 and 10 Side Road. Police say they expect the highway to be closed for several hours while investigators try to determine what happened.
