An industrial area of Oro-Medonte was awash in the sounds of sirens, the smell of smoke and the sight of flames early this morning as a fire engulfed several vehicles.
Firefighters and emergency services personnel were dispatched to Jamieson Drive near Forest Plain Road in Oro-Medonte, just south of Orillia, at about 1:30 a.m. this morning.
Officials say a call for an "active fire" was quickly upgraded when it was determined three to five vehicles were on fire in the Central Ontario Truck & Equipment Yard at 179 Forest Plain Road.
No other details are yet available about the fire or its cause.
