Barrie police are on the lookout for a white SUV with possible front-end damage after it was involved in a failure-to-remain crash on Tuesday afternoon in the city's north end.
The incident happened around 2 p.m., Sept. 19, on Bayfield Street, just south of Heather Street.
When officers arrived at the scene around 2:20 p.m., they were informed that the vehicle responsible was exiting from a parking lot on the east side of Bayfield Street just after 2 p.m., when it struck a red vehicle that was stopped in the northbound turn lane for Heather Street.
The driver of the car that was struck has been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police say the suspect vehicle, a white SUV, "sped off at a high rate of speed southbound on Bayfield Street where it eventually entered the southbound lanes of Highway 400," according to a news release.
Police say the SUV was being driven my a male with blonde hair who is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old.
There may also have been a second male in the front passenger seat.
The front end of the suspect vehicle, which may be a General Motors product, should have "significant front-end damage," according to police.
