Barrie police are searching for this man following an alleged knifepoint robbery at a downtown bank machine on June 25.

Barrie police have released surveillance images of a suspect wanted in connection to a robbery last month at a downtown bank machine.

On Sunday, June 25, at approximately 9:11 a.m., Barrie police responded to a reported robbery where the victim was held at knifepoint and led to the drive-thru ATM at the rear of the Scotiabank, located at 44 Collier St.

Police say the unknown suspect proceeded to withdraw money from the victim’s account using their bank card and personal identification number (PIN).

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the area captured images of the suspect, who is described as a white male between the ages of 25 and 40 years old. He is between five-foot-eight and six-feet tall with a slimmer build, approximately 180 pounds, with short brown hair and a full brown beard.

He was wearing a dark T-shirt, possibly grey, with a yellow logo/label "GEORGIAN Equipment Orillia” on the left chest area, black undershirt and red shorts. He was carrying a black/grey backpack.

Police say the backpack is unique as the upper section is grey with a black horizontal stripe and a pull string compartment at the top. The lower section is darker, possibly black, with three vertical black stripes, possibly Adidas, and a horizontal zip pocket at the front, with a grey logo in the bottom right corner and a white logo in the bottom left corner.

Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect is asked to contact Det.-Const. Latham at 705-725-7025, ext. 2743.
