On Oct. 26, 2021, the Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit initiated an investigation after receiving information that an unknown suspect was using Facebook to distribute child pornography.
On March 30, 2022, the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in north Barrie and seized several computer devices belonging to the suspect.
Today (April 25, 2022), the Barrie Police ICE Unit arrested a 17-year-old male for accessing and possession of child pornography and he was held pending a bail hearing.
