The Southern Georgian Bay OPP have made an arrest in relation to threats allegedly made Monday at a downtown Midland financial intuition.
According to police, officers in the King Street and Bourgeois Lane area began looking for a suspect known to police following a call around 9 a.m. to the OPP Communication Centre.
At 9:17 a.m., officers made an arrest.
Scott Barry Sylvester, 36, of no fixed address is charged with the following criminal code offences:
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats - Damage Property
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Sylvester is also charged with failure to leave a premises when directed, contrary to the Trespass to Property Act.
The accused is in custody awaiting a bail hearing and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date, police said in a news release.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Sylvester is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
