Vehicle crashes into cars parked in Walker Avenue driveway

Driver facing impaired and possession of cocaine, trafficking charges after incident at 2:30 a.m. this morning

ORILLIA – Members of the Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a collision which resulted in the arrest of an impaired driver in the City of Orillia.  

On Oct. 2, 2020, approximately 2:30 a.m., police were notified of a collision that had occurred on Walker Avenue, Orillia. Upon arrival, officers observed that a vehicle had collided with two parked vehicles in a driveway, causing them to strike a nearby building. The driver of the vehicle was spoken to and an impaired driving investigation was undertaken. The male was subsequently arrested and further investigation lead to the seizure of a quantity of Cocaine and Canadian currency.  

As a result, Justin Connors, age 31, of Tiny Township, has been charged with:   

  • Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs, contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code  
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code  
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act 
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Cocaine, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act  

The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on Dec. 08, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
